These communities lie adjoining New Westminster and south of Burnaby Lake, with Burnaby East lying east of Canada Way and Cariboo lying east of Cumberland St.
This neighbourhood is mostly single family housing, with increasing semi-detached and multi-family housing as you move west, and more multi-family housing and condos closer to the Burnaby Lake parklands.
These neighbourhoods are served by 2 elementary schools and the Cariboo Hill High School, and Simon Fraser University and BCIT are not far away by transit.
The area has shops & restaurants along 10 Avenue, the boundary with New Westminster
These neighbourhoods are surrounded by parkland to the north, protecting the area from the traffic noise of the Trans-Canada Highway. Robert Burnaby Park has an outdoor pool and recreational pathways. To the east is the Cariboo-Brunette River Conservation Area, which connects Burnaby Lake and industrial lands the Fraser River. The neighbourhood is connected by road to the Equestian Centre at the east end of the lake. The Canada Games recreational facilities and Queen's Park in adjoining New Wesminster are close by.
