Homes: Pemberton Heights (North Vancouver)

The Pemberton Heights neighbourhood was built in the 1930s on the bluffs overlooking Pemberton and Marine Drive, and stretches north to the Upper Levels There are only two entrances to the neighbourhood, one off the Upper Levels Exit 14, the other off MacKay Avenue.

Shopping
In Pemberton Heights all roads lead to Marine Drive (ecept the one that leads to the Highway). This large east-west artery offers every conceivable amenity. One large food store, located immediately on the southern border of Pemberton Heights is available, and a couple of minutes drive to the east on Marine Drive takes you to Capilano Mall which has two department stores, a liquor store and numerous other boutiques and services. Driving west quickly leads you to the Park Royal Shopping Centre, at the municipal boundary of West Vancouver.

Schools
The area is served by Capilano Elementary and the Handsworth Secondary School, above the Upper Levels, is accessed by pedestrian overpass over the highway.

Recreation
The community has a number of small parks scattered throughout, but is close to the Capilano River, with Klahanie Park to the west and Capilano Regional Park just to the north, along with the popular Capilano Suspension Bridge tourist attraction. To the southwest, past the Park Royal Shopping Centre is Ambleside Park along the waterfront.

Homes
Pemberton Heights has long, wide lots on tree lined streets, many homes with waterfront and city views. On the south side of Keith Road, are the more expensive homes along the bluff, with unobstructed views. The more affordable homes are to the north, closer to the Upper Levels, where the homes are small and medium-sized single-family homes with good-sized gardens.

Price Range: homes from $250,000 to $800,000, and some small apartments/condos in the range of $160,000 - $250,000.
