Homes: Queensdale - Queensbury (North Vancouver)
Queensbury is one of the oldest areas on the North Shore and the Lower Mainland. The are was known as Moodyville and built around a lumber mill. The neighbourhood is along and south of the pretty Keith Road boulevard parklands. The community and homes in it have see much improvement in recent years. Shopping East Keith Road is the Park and Tilford Shopping Centre, which offers a large food store, a private wine store and many other small boutiques and services. Heading up Mountain Highway, is the Lynn Valley Centre, and west on either Keith Road is the busy Lonsdale Avenue, North Vancouver's main north-south commercial artery. Schools The area is served by Brooksbank Elementary and Ridgeway Elementary, Sutherland Secondary school (up the hill a bit), and the Keith Lynn Alternate School for special education. The public library is west on Keith at Lonsdale or to the north at Lynn Valley Mall. Capilano College is relatively close by. Recreation The community ha s number of small parks scattered throughout, and is close to the Lynn Canyon Park east on either Keith or Main Street, and is also close to all the fun at Lonsdale Quay Market Homes Many of the small turn-of-last-century homes were replaced by bungalows built in the 1940s - 50s. The neighbourhood includes many "character" homes on south facing slopes with great views of Burrard Inlet and the Vancouver Downtown.
