This area lies south of Metrotown, between Imperial Street and Marine Way, on the south-facing hill slope which overlooks Marine Drive and the Fraser River. The area is divided up by a number of deep ravine parks running toward the Fraser River. There are also some light industrial areas adjacent to railway tracks to the northeast of residential areas.
This area is mostly single-family homes, with some semi-detached homes scattered around, there are some multi-family townhouses toward the north, closer to Metrotown.
The area is served by 3 elementary schools, 2 public libraries, and Burnaby South High School. For post-secondary students, BCIT is just to the north, with other colleges or universities accessible by SkyTrain or bus.
Metrotown's shopping centre and adjoining retail facilities are close by.
This area is close to shopping and theatres in both Metrotown and New Westminster, and has a number of larger parks both along the Fraser River and various ravine parks leading to it. The neighbourhood is has an outdoor pool, has Central Park to the north west, with a pool, ballpark, track and pitch & putt, and to the south are a golf course and the Riverway Sports Complex.
